Transparent Phone

Window Phone - concept phone On one hand, clear conceptual phones already, so this is not just the first, but on the other, the so-called Window Phone has one impressive feature - its transparent housing varies depending on the weather! Thus, in the sunny days, the screen will be completely transparent, on a rainy day it will appear «virtual» drop, but it is covered with frost frost. Ie translucent screen will look like as well as present a window into a variety of weather. I do not know how it will be practical, but at least, very original! :)

Nokia X3 & X6

At Nokia World 2009 were presented two new phone line with the index X (short XpressMusic) - touchscreen smartphone X6 and a slider with an index of X3. Both of them should appear on sale later this year. Nokia X3 main features of the slider - working with the radio without a wired headset, 2.2 inch display with 320x240 resolution, 3-megapixel camera, memory card support up to 16 gigabytes, the possibility of charging from USB (there is a standard 2-mm charger connector) and integration with web services OVI. Expected price is at level 540 (!) And 140 euros for, respectively, the model X6 and X3. Frankly, the price for the X6 looks quite pessimistic, despite its built 32 gigabytes of memory.

Samsung W510 - First Bio-Plastic Materials Mobile Phone

Samsung W510 is the company's first phone that includes bio-plastic materials. More exactly, the back cover of the handset is made of plastic obtained from corn. Plus, unlike most of the phones on the market, the W510 does not contain elements like Mercury, Lead or Cadmium.

Samsung will be rolling out what it calls a "green phone", the W510. The reason why it is green is because it is made out of bio-plastic, a natural material extracted from corn that won't pollute the nviroment as much as a manufacturing standard cell phone would. It will hit the Korean market later this month, so if you want one you can always head there and pick up a handset unlike any other. After all, it is hard to argue against an applied water-soluble coating, right? Makes me wonder just how much of an environmental impact the 3G iPhone will make assuming it hits the 10 million
sales target. Another green phone from Samsung would be the F268 that has an alarm function that alerts the user each time it is fully charged so that you won't waste any power leaving it plugged in.

The features of W510 were not unveiled yet, but we can see a photo camera with flash, a pretty wide display and mobile TV capabilities, hence it's most probably a mid-end device. The W510 will be available starting this month (June) in South Korea, for a price that has not been announced yet.

Samsung D780 strengthens dual-SIM lineup

Today, Samsung officially revealed the second dual-SIM phone of the company's portfolio, the stylish tri-band bar Samsung D780 Duos. The new phone is not a direct successor of the D880 but more of an expansion to the Duos family. The Samsung D780 Duos main selling point is its dual-SIM functionality. The handset is capable of working with two SIM cards simultaneously with both being active in the same time.

The Samsung D780 also features a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. The screen is a 2.1-inch one, capable of showing up to 256K colors in QVGA resolution.

Other features include Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP support and USB v2.0 as well as a microSD card slot for expanding the internal memory capacity. The MP3 player and stereo FM radio completes the multimedia capabilities of the neat and stylish phone. Samsung D780 will be powered by the same 1200mAh battery used in the Samsung D880 Duos.

You may also remember that there was another dual-SIM handset rumored, which never saw the light of day. The Armani-like Samsung P720 dual-SIM phone was cancelled by Samsung. Nevertheless, more Duos handsets are expected this year - even one that will run on the on Windows Mobile OS.

Samsung D780 will be available in dark silver color and mirror silver colors and will first be available in Russia from May and in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Middle East shortly afterwards.

Nokia 888 Mobile Phone

A personal mobile communication device which lets you be free and fun. It is light, simple and carefree. You can change its form according to your needs during the day. You don't have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in any form. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. Also e-motions let you send forms to other 888 users: i.e. you can send a heart shape to your girlfriend or a dancing figure to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This way you can talk without words.

Tamer Nakisci explains in detail about this work.

*technologies that are used

It uses liquid battery, speech recognition, flexible touch screen, touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations.

*the functionality of design

You don't have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in any form. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. The functions that it has also create a feeling of electronically pet, as it senses your moves, understand what you want, respond you in the best way. It learns you, to fit you better. Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.

*how the user interacts

E-motions… It means electronically motions that 888 has. You can send and receive forms from / to friends. You can send a heart shape to your girlfriend, so her telephone turns into an icon of heart. Or you can send a dancing form to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This is the
fun side of the product. If we look from the functionality side, 888 is quite flexible. You can put it into your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call on the go. If you want to talk like a normal telephone, there you have your telephone shape. We go
through a lot of places and situations in the daily life, so it seems like one form is not enough.

*what is unique

You can change the form of the body. Not just the color. And you can do the same by sending an e-motion to your friend.

*the inspiration

The idea is that “the perfect form” does not exist. “Form follows you” We create the perfect form for each function.
